About Cedar Ridge Chessies

Seven years ago we moved into a new home and were excited about the prospect of getting a furry friend. We did our homework and looked at a lot of pictures, and our hearts landed on the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. It took a few years for our dream to come true, but it finally did when Ziba came into our lives. Little did we know how fast she would steal our hearts.

We're Nick and Virginia and we love Chessies! We love them so much that we want to fill the hearts and homes of others with this noble, lovable breed. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are bred to be waterfowl hunting dogs. They are energetic, smart and loyal. They do have a stubborn streak that doesn't make them the easiest to train, but they are incredibly affectionate!
